A SPOTLIGHT is being shone on Greater Manchester's cultural offering and the region's leaders are asking for public input into how to develop and grow.

A consultation has been launched to find out the public's thoughts,on the culture scene and will inform the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The authority wants the region's culture to be accessible and representative of its people.

Leader of Bolton Council and Greater Manchester portfolio lead for culture, Linda Thomas said: “We want everyone in Greater Manchester to have access and the opportunity to express their own creativity; making, participating, contributing to, enjoying and celebrating the distinctive cultural landscape that makes Greater Manchester a great place to live, visit and invest in."

An event will be held in each of the boroughs as part of the consultation.

The consultation closes Tuesday, November 6 and can be found online at greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk with a draft version of the strategy.
