TWO inspirational ladies have been hailed Little Lever's Women of the Year 2018 after losing 10 stone.

Natasha Tracey and Amy Wunderley were named this year's super slimmers by their local Slimming World group in Mytham Road.

The pair also stepped out with other members of the team to raise money for Cancer Research UK's Walk All Over Cancer campaign.

Amy, from Little Lever, has lost 4 stone in seven months. She also runs Wunderley's Café Bistro in Market Street with husband Derek, who has been crowned Mytham Road's 'Man of the Year'.

Amy said: "I rejoined Slimming World after having a total meltdown in a tapas bar in Marbella at New Year.

"We'd had a rare few days away, child free. Everywhere we ate out or went for a drink, we would take photos. But I died inside with sadness and humiliation knowing how big I’d got. After the holiday, Derek said he would come with me to join Slimming World. It was the best thing I could have done. I found new friends and have had so much support.

"I am so close to my 5.5st target now."

Mum-of-three Natasha Tracey, from Radcliffe, is also celebrating after losing 6st and said that Slimming World has changed her life.

She said: "I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life. From my teenage years I always hid behind people or objects. This carried on into my thirties.

"Last year was the wake up I needed. To hear your kids say that you aren't a 'fun mum' is heartbreaking but it was what I needed to hear."

In November 2017, Natasha joined Slimming World in Little Lever.

She said: "I can now run round like a loon playing tag with my boys, playing on the park and playing football. I have a new lease of life."

At the end of August, the Mytham group took part in a celebratory walk around Moses Gate Country Park in aid of Cancer Research UK and to raise awareness about how staying healthy can reduce the risk of cancer.

Victoria Ogden, who runs the group, said: "I’m so proud of Amy and Natasha. They are both a huge inspiration to everyone in our group."
