MADONNA'S iconic hits will be performed live in Bolton as the Material Girl show takes to the stage at the Alberts Halls.

The UK's official number one Madonna tribute act will headlining the show — currently touring the UK — celebrating the life and sounds of one of pop's greatest figures, in the year the singer turned 60-years-old.

This year also marks 35 years since the creation and release of "Holiday" and "Lucky Star", the songs with which Madonna debuted into the world of pop music.

Jodie said: "It's a dream come true to be able to take the role to a huge theatre tour. What a fantastic person to play, one of the most influential and successful stars of all time and someone that's been a huge inspiration to me and my life.

"The show has been touring since March and it has been fantastic. The show has been so well created. Its uplifting with people singing and dancing with some people coming in the eighties fashion, with the bangles."

Audiences are taken on a journey through the scandals, the controversy and the music of one of the world’s most iconic figures, hearing stories and little-known facts about Madonna as the show follows her career and music through her 35 years at the top.

Jodie launched her Madonna Tribute Show in London in 2009 after a successful career in musical theatre and The West End.

She was voted the UK’s Official No. 1 Madonna Tribute Act by the Agents’ Association at The National Tribute Awards Great Britain, and currently still holds this title today.

Jodie said: "I was in my early teens when I first heard Madonna's music and and I think she was a huge inspiration to girls, she changed fashioned she changed the music scene."

Material Girl’ features all of the hits such as ‘Like A Virgin’, ‘Papa Don’t Preach’, ‘Vogue’, ‘Crazy for You’, ‘Into the Groove’, ‘Like a Prayer’, ‘Express Yourself’ and many more and audiences will hear stories and little-known facts about Madonna as the show follows her career and music through her 35 years at the top.

Jodie, who will be taking the show to Finland, said: "It was a friend who suggested I become a Madonna tribute act, I am a dancer and singer and have been a solo tribute act for nine years.

"In this show I am working with dancers who are just so talented."

And in between Material Girl the Madonna lookalike continues with her solo act, which she performed in Bolton about three years ago and built up a following.

"It was fantastic performing in Bolton, I received emails afterwards asking when I was coming back," said Jodie, who says she has different generations of people in the audience, including younger music fans, familiar with Madonna's most recent music or because they have heard it being played at home.

"I think Madonna is a fantastic business woman, she has always stayed completely focused and reinvented herself, her songs are so diverse and so appeals to a wide demographic.

"Everyone has their favourite song and the show starts with Holiday and goes through the different eras."

Slamdunk Entertainment Director, Duncan Heather said: "Madonna is way more than her music. She is super wealthy and successful, but she is a down to earth person that has had hardship and grief like us all. Our show will hopefully show all aspects of her life and the songs will speak for themselves."

Material Girl takes to the stage on October 18 at 7.30pm.
