THE very best in the business was celebrated at this year’s glittering Bolton Business Awards 2018.
Fifteen awards were handed out at the ceremony designed to recognise those in every aspect of business — from those just starting out to those who have made a valuable contribute to life in Bolton over a number of decades.
Guests, representing a wide range of businesses and organisations which play a pivotal role in the success of the town, enjoyed a three course meal and entertainment — as well as undoubtedly indulging in a spot of networking — before the highlight of the evening, the awards themselves.
This year the ceremony remembered and paid tribute to John Carr, chairman of the iconic Bolton-based Carrs Pasties who died at the age of 74 earlier this year.
His family collected the Editor’s Award in his honour.
The youngest winner was Ellie Entwistle who won the Young Person/ Apprentice of the Year. She is with Bring Digital and encouraged young people to think about apprenticeships, saying she is already way ahead in her career.
Bolton News editor Karl Holbrook said: “This was my first business awards and it was great to see such high-calibre entries and winners in every category.
“It was an emotional occasion with so much hard work and sacrifice being recognised across the board. It was also an honour to be able to present the Editor’s Award to the family of John Carr, who made such a big contribution not only to the family business, but to Bolton as a whole.”
