COULD you swim the English Channel?
Community group Turton Trailblazers is calling on supporters to take on the approximate equivalent shortest distance across the English Channel in a swimming pool.
The annual Swim4Life challenge will be held at the Turton Sports Centre, Bromley Cross, on Saturday, October 27.
Participants will collectively attempt to cover a distance of 32 km — or 1,320 lengths of the swimming pool.
Swimmers can take on as many lengths as they want, with their efforts contributing towards the overall total.
Sponsorship raised by individual swimmers will be donated to Special Care for Special Babies at the Neonatal Unit at the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.
Funds will go towards enhance the caring environment and improving provision for parents and families.
Entry is free. To view the rules and complete a sponsorship form, visit turtontrailblazers.com.
