LITTLE Hulton and Walkden residents will be able to visit a new expanded Aldi after the store reopened.

The Swinton Hall Road shop opened yesterday morning at 8am, following a significant refurbishment and extension.

Aldi says the decision to extend the store was due to increasing popularity and customer demand in the area.

Shoppers can now benefit from more products and "an enhanced, convenient and varied shopping experience" thanks to a new retail space size of 1,165sqm, along with a wider range of British products.

The upgrade means people can expect to find Aldi’s Specially Selected range, weekly fresh meat offers and the Super 6 fruit and veg deal on offer in store.

A wide variety of twice-weekly ‘Specialbuys’ every Thursday and Sunday are also available, offering a range of products from gardening equipment to electrical items.

Store Manager, Amanda Gavin, said: “It was great to welcome shoppers back through our doors again this morning and to see some familiar faces.

"We’re delighted that we can offer Swinton shoppers an even larger space, with quality products at fantastic prices and look forward to welcoming more shoppers into the new-look store over the coming weeks.”

Following its reopening, the stores opening hours are:

-Monday – Saturday: 8:00am – 10:00pm

-Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm

Aldi has been achieving national success in recent years and is now the UK's fifth biggest supermarket, with more than 775 stores.
