A 14-YEAR-OLD boy who was hit by a car escaped with just bruises.

Firefighters from Bolton North station said the incident occurred outside Moses Gate train station when youngster had been crossing a road.

Police and ambulance services attended the scene along with one fire cre who had been asked to remove the boy from under the car.

The incident occurred at 4.45pm and the youth was taken in an ambulance to the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Mick Hodson, watch manager at Bolton North, said: "We were called because they thought the boy was trapped under the car, he was wedged under but we were able to get him out."

Mr Hodson said the youth had run into the road and that the incident should serve as a warning.

"He's got a second chance where other's don't after he ran out into the road," he said.
