AFTER a miraculous escape from relegation in May, Bolton Wanderers have had a more steady time on the pitch so far this season.

The club made a promising start in August, welcoming West Bromwich Albion to the Championship with an impressive 2-1 away victory and going unbeaten in the league for the first four games, beating Reading and Birmingham City and drawing with Bristol City.

The streak would come to an end after a disastrous home game against high-flying Sheffield United ended in a 3-0 defeat, but the early days of the season seemed a success.

Unfortunately, the Whites did not fare as well in knockout fixtures that month, dropping out of the Caraboa Cup after a 2-1 loss to a strong Leeds United side.

September would prove a different challenge and Wanderers were only able to register one victory throughout the month, coming at home in a 1-0 against Derby County.

Before that win, the team registered two draws, with Preston North End and Ipswich Town, and two defeats, at home to Queens Park Rangers and away against Middlesbrough.

October has been worse for Whites fans, kicking off with a 2-0 loss to former Premier League side Stoke City followed by a 1-0 defeat against rivals Blackburn Rovers.

The Whites now sit in 16th in the table, six points above relegation but only four away from a play-off spot.
