A WHOLE host of events are scheduled to take place across the town this week.

Here's our guide to five of the best things to do and see in Bolton.

BEER FESTIVAL IS BACK

Beer enthusiasts are in for a treat as the popular Bolton Beer Festival returns to the town for the 25th consecutive year.

The gathering, hosted at the University of Bolton Stadium, will continue to raise money for Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

Running from October 18-20, the festival will showcase more than 200 real ales, lagers, ciders, gin, wine and prosecco, as well as live music.

WANDERERS PLAY COMES HOME

Find out how a group of Boltonians see their lives transformed by 11 men in white shirts on an unstoppable march to Wembley.

And Did Those Feet will return to the home of Bolton Wanderers — the University of Bolton Stadium — on Sunday for 12 shows. The football drama centres on the club’s 1923 FA Cup Final against West Ham United.

SNOW MUCH FAMILY FUN!

Families will be taken on a freezing musical adventure as a cast perform The Snow Queen at The Albert Halls.

The feel-good show will see the ice enchantress, her sister and their friend battle against Jack Frost to break the ice spell that is causing a never-ending winter.

The Joseph Purdy Production features glittering sets, songs and a star-studded cast, including former Gogglebox favourite Sandra Martin and actor Warren Donnelly, known for playing Stan Waterman in Shameless.

It premieres on Saturday and runs throughout half-term. Call the box office on 0843 2080 500.

CIRCUS ROLLS INTO TOWN

This year marks 250 years since the creation of the modern circus.

And to mark the occasion, the Big Kid Circus is returning to Bolton with a new show that features ground and aerial artists from across the globe, and the new Clown Papeluxo from Chile.

Reduced £7.99 tickets are available for the opening night at the University of Bolton Stadium on Wednesday. The on-site ticket office is open 10am until 8pm.

GHOSTLY GOINGS ON

A perfectly spooky treat is being laid on in the run-up to Halloween as one of Bolton's grandest halls opens its doors at night.

A ghost and history tour will take place at the Grade I-listed Smithills Hall this Thursday to give visitors an insight to its history.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £7 concessions. Advanced booking is essential. Visit Smithills Hall or ring 01204 332211 for more information.
