A LONG-ESTABLISHED choir helped to raise vital funds by throwing a community concert.

Members of the Bury and Radcliffe Bible Society, as well as friends and family, turned out in force to enjoy a range of music performed by Radcliffe Male Voice Choir.

This was the fifth occasion that the choir, under the baton of conductor Keith Heywood, performed to help raise money for the Bible Society.

The Bury and Radcliffe Bible Society is celebrating its first year as a joint body.

Rob Peters, of Radcliffe Male Voice Choir, said: "Radcliffe Male Voice Choir presented a wonderfully varied programme of songs. These included audience participation items which meant everyone could join in and a jolly good time was enjoyed by all."

Rev Eric Ruehorn, chairman of the Bury and Radcliffe Bible Society, gave a hearty thanks to the choir and to the audience for turning up to support such a worthy cause.

The concert, at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 13, raised a total of £241 for the Bible Society.

Radcliffe Male Voice Choir's next performance will be their Christmas Festival Concert on Saturday, November 24 at Bolton Road Methodist Church, Bolton Road, Bury.
