A COMMUNITY support service that helps families with complex care needs has received an outstanding inspection report.

Bolton Council’s Bridges Family Support Service which provides home care for young people up to the age of 19 with a range of disabilities, has been praised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The inspectors' report concludes: “Staff interactions were warm and friendly and demonstrated respect for all the young people and their families. The service was flexible and person-centred.

“Quality assurance was a high priority and we saw a number of audits, service reviews and competency checks which helped ensure the service continued to operate at a very high standard.”

One family member of a service user told inspectors: “I definitely feel he is safe with them. The Bridges team provides us with excellent support every week.”

Cllr Ann Cunliffe, said: “I extend my congratulations to the manager and staff for their hard work. It is clear just how professional and caring the service is.”
