CUSTOMERS in Bromley Cross have been warned their water pressure is low.

United Utilities has confirmed customers in the BL7 postcode could be experiencing no water or low water pressure.

The lack of pressure is due to a leak in Ramwells Brow, Bromley Cross, just off Hospital Road.

The work was planned and it was anticipated it would affect 89 homes but since starting the work the company has texted an additional 15 homes notifying them of the drop in pressure.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We apologise to those affected when their water went off without warning.  We had to shut off the water supply in order to repair a leak, and the area affected was slightly wider than we expected.”

A statement on the company's website says: "You may have noticed that the water is coming out of your tap slower than usual or may have gone off altogether. We have one of our inspectors looking into this at the moment and as soon as we know what the cause of the problem is we’ll let you know.

"We’re sorry about this and will try and get your taps flowing normally as quickly as we can. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know what’s causing the problem."

The issue was first reported to the water provider at 10.53am this morning.
