FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a cake factory last night.

Crews were called to Park Cakes, in Bella Street, at about 4.25pm to reports of a fire involving an industrial cooker.

Staff were evacuated from the building before firefighters arrived, and no one was injured in the incident.

The fire left the cooker with considerable damage.

Firefighters remained at the scene until about 1am this morning.

Park Cakes employs about 350 people in Bolton, and supplies own-brand cakes and desserts to some of the UK's top supermarkets.
