BEER lovers enjoyed three days of ale, lager, cider, gin and wine at a long-running annual festival.

The Bolton Beer Festival in aid of Bolton Lads and Girls Club ran from Thursday to Saturday at the University of Bolton Stadium marking its silver anniversary.

The thousands of visitors descended on the stadium to sample delights from all around the world with hundreds of liquid delights to choose from, including more than 200 real ales, across the three days. Of course local Bank Top Brewery was among the options.

Visitors were even treated to entertainment thanks to popular local band The Govans.

Fundraising Manager for Bolton Lads & Girls Club, Kelly McFadden, said: “All the money will go back into the core services at the club.

“It’s getting bigger and bigger every year, which is obviously great for the beer festival and great for us.

“We are grateful to everyone for the continual support.”
