A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a couple had their house set on fire has been bailed.
On October 16, a couple living in Montreal Street, Leigh had their windows smashed in the early hours and a flammable liquid was thrown through the windows and then set alight.
They escaped the flames but the woman, who is in her 60s, was taken to hospital where she is still in a critical condition. It is believed she has suffered life-changing injuries because of the attack.
The 34-year-old was arrested on Saturday morning after officers executed a warrant, but has now been bailed until November 17, pending further enquiries.
