In the early hours of Tuesday October 16, a couple were in their home in Montreal Street when their windows were smashed. A flammable liquid was set alight and then thrown through the windows, said police.
The couple managed to escape the flames but the woman – who is in her 60s — was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition. It is believed she has suffered life-changing injuries.
