FOR those successful in their search for employment, job satisfaction in Bolton is high according to a report by Glassdoor.

One of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites, announced that Bolton was ranked as the ninth best UK town or city to work in.

The rating is determined by weighting three factors equally: how easy it is to get a job, how affordable it is to live there, and how satisfied employees are.

Bolton topped the list for the most satisfied employees, sharing first place with Cambridge, both receiving a Glassdoor Job Satisfaction rating of 3.6.

According to the report, there are 9,131 job openings in Bolton where the median salary is £20,000 and the median home value is £162,694.

A council spokesman said: “We are pleased to see that we have retained our ranking as ninth best place in the country for people to live and work in by Glassdoor.”

“Our £1bn masterplan will also look to create an estimated 7400 jobs and facilitate the redevelopment and growth of our town alongside other major investment and developments around the borough.

“We also work closely with our schools, training providers, colleges and university to support local young people to progress with a particular focus on raising the profile of apprenticeships. Across Greater Manchester we are year on year, one of the highest areas for apprenticeship starts.”
