BOLTON Hindu Forum celebrated Sharad Purnima Na Garba at the town hall as part of the new Bolton Light Festival on Saturday.
Members of the Hindu community came to Bolton's Festival Hall from Preston, Manchester and Oldham for one of the biggest events of its kind in the North West.
The evening of dance, which featured music by the Kalla Shree music group from Rajkot India, was attended by former mayor Cllr Roger Hayes.
More than £650 was raised for Bolton Hospice through donations on the night.
Paras Agravat, Bolton Hindu Forum project manager said: "We have been doing this event for a number of years now. It tied in nicely with the Bolton Light Festival."
More than 400 people attended the sold-out event which is open to everybody and the group is looking to move to a bigger and better venue next year.
The annual harvest festival takes place on the full moon and marks the end of the monsoon season.
The next Bolton Light Festival event will be the annual firework display at Leverhulme Park on Friday November 2.
Bolton Hindu Forum is still accepting donations for Bolton Hospice, this can be done online or in person. For more information call 01204 238018.
