The festive season is almost upon us and there are some great family-friendly shows for the whole family to get into the spirit.

Wicked
Palace Theatre, Manchester.

There are a few tickets available for the popular musical which re-imagines characters from The Wizard of Oz and follows the unlikely friendship between two young women who meet as sorcery students.
But you’ll have to dig deep because the remaining tickets start at £70.
Doctor Doolittle
The Lowry Theatre
Thursday, December 11 to Saturday, January 5.
Based on the stories and hit film, the show joins the eccentric doctor and his abundance of animal friends on an extraordinary adventure to find the Giant Pink Sea Snail.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
The Premier Suite, Bolton University Stadium
Tuesday, December 4 to Monday, December 31
An Octagon production. Along with Scarecrow, Tin Woodman and Lion, Dorothy sets out on her journey, in an unfamiliar place, to the Great Oz in order to return home to Bolton.

Cinderella
The Opera House, Manchester
Saturday, November 8 to Sunday, December 30.
Join Cinders as she transforms from rags to riches, outwits her very Ugly Sisters, and, with the help of her best friend Buttons and one very magical Fairy Godmother, wins the heart of the dashing Prince Charming.
The show has a star-studded line-up of Coronation Street baddie Connor McIntyre and Les Dennis as the ugly sisters and Gareth Gates as prince charming and Waterloo Road’s Shannon Flynn as Cinderella – to name a few.
Tickets range from £12 to £46.
