Remembrance Day

The Mayor of Bolton will join war veterans and members of the public in Victoria Square at 10.45am on Sunday.

The service will include a two-minute silence at 11am, which will be marked by a loud gun fire.

Later, in the evening, the public are invited to meet in Victoria Square at 6.30pm to witness the lighting of the Remembrance Beacon at 7pm.

Saturday Meditation in the art gallery

Adults can get their weekends off to a peaceful start with a drop-in meditation session on Saturday morning.

The session which is going to be held in the Art Gallery at Bolton Central Library and Museum will be guided by author and meditation teacher-Midnight McBride.

The meditation sessions will last 45 minutes, starting at 10am.

Booking is not required but there is a £5 entry fee.

Saturday Centenary Remembrance concert at 7.15pm at Bolton Albert Halls

The Mayor of Bolton is proudly presenting The Artillery Band performing at the Albert Halls Bolton for the Centenary Remembrance Concert.

The evening will be very entertaining and moving, especially when the Act of Remembrance takes place.

Tickets cost £6.50 with the event starting at 7.15pm and approximately finishing at 9.30pm.

Proceeds from the concert will be going to the Cadets Fund and Veterans organisations.

Octagon theatre’s annual celebration of home grown talent

The Octagon Theatre’s annual celebration of home-grown talent and creativity is back.

50 entries have been chosen to be performed script in hand by professional actors.

Over 320 submissions were received by the local community.

Best of Bolton encourages writers of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience to enter poetry, stories and short plays to celebrate Bolton’s rich cultural heritage and the power of the spoken word.

There are over 20 performances for audiences to look forward to for both shows.

Tickets cost £5 and it will be held at the Bolton Library Lecture Theatre.

The events take place on Saturday 10th November at 2pm and 7.30pm.

Sunday – Antiques and Collectors Fair, Bolton Wanderers Exhibition Hall

The Macron Stadium will be hosting the North West’s largest one-off antique’s fair starting at 9.30am and finishing at 4.30pm.

There will be thousands of items for sale, including fantastic varieties of Christmas gift ideas.

Items for sale will range from porcelain and china to jewellery and vintage items, such as medals and stamps.

Entry for adults is £3.50, children are £3 and under 12s are free.
