The young footballers of Westbury Sports FC took part in a respectful example of remembrance.
The club play their games at the Old Wellington Bury Army Barracks, on Bexley Drive off Bolton Road in Bury
Mike Roberts, who volunteers at the club, painted a poppy on the centre spot of each pitch as well as on the Barracks hill.
On Saturday 10th prior to every game, Corporal Michael Walsh of the Lancashire Fusiliers led a minutes’ silence.
Carl Slater, the manager of the under 12’s, said “I was so proud to be a part of Westbury Sports FC. All the kids and volunteers at the club did us proud.”
