A BOLTON MP has warned there could be "blood all over the floor this afternoon".

Sir David Crausby, Labour, was talking about the cabinet meeting scheduled to decide the Brexit deal which has been agreed by European and UK officers and which the Prime Minister was running past her ministers last night.

Sir David, who has not yet had sight of the draft deal, said Brexit was always an "impossible task" which Theresa May had been lumbered with.

He said: "David Cameron has a lot to answer for. He set it up and disappeared. Theresa May is stuck with an impossible job of delivering something that looks like it's not deliverable."

Cabinet will meet with Mrs May this afternoon to discuss the deal and Sir David was speculating heads could roll or some ministers might jump.

Rumours about the document say it is between 400 and 600 pages long and includes the detail of a financial settlement, the rights of EU citizens and UK citizens after Brexit and detail on preventing a hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Sir David said: "It looks like we will remain in the customs union. I don't think that's what people voted for." Sir David said he did not see any alternative that would still allow a soft border in Northern Ireland.

Sir David said: "I don't think there will be a statement before the Commons. They are not going to come out and make a statement until they have got their act together. and it could be blood all over the floor this afternoon.

"I would expect a statement early next week."
