FIRSTLY, I would like to say thank you for all the positive messages regarding last week’s Wayne’s World on the subject of Remembrance Sunday.

I’m really pleased that so many of you felt exactly the same as I did and I appreciate you taking the time to comment on the subject.

On Remembrance Sunday, Val and I attended the lovely service at the war memorial at Davyhulme Circle where hundreds of residents turned out to pay respects to and honour all those who served in all conflicts since 1914.

The organisers put on a fitting and moving tribute and it was great to see both young and old standing side by side to say thank you to those who gave their todays so that we could have our tomorrows.

Lest we forget.

Recently, I performed at the inaugural Move Mountains Ball at the Principal Hotel in Manchester. The ball, which was hosted by event specialist Entertainment Today and compèred by Stephanie Waring and Kieron Richardson, stars of Channel 4’s hit show Hollyoaks along with guest compère children’s television presenter Bruce Turner, was to raise funds for The Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

I was very proud to perform for such worthy causes and I loved that I was able to play my part in performing and supporting this star studded event.

I am also very proud to have been asked to perform alongside X Factor winner Rebecca Ferguson at the inaugural Greater Manchester Mayor’s Ball in aid of the GM Mayor’s Homelessness Fund — A Bed For Every Night on November 22 at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester.

It is going to be a fantastic night that I am very much looking forward to.

Closer to home, I will be presenting and performing again this year at the Urmston Christmas lights switch on event tomorrow Friday at 5.30pm on Queens Road by the Christmas Tree.

It’s always a great event that the Urmston community come out in force for. We are never bullied by the weather and always have a brilliant time come rain or shine.

Then on Friday, November 30, I will be performing at the Timperley Christmas Lights Celebration in the centre of Timperley outside Sayers Bakery in the town centre. This is the third time I have supported this event and Timperley always give me a really warm and friendly welcome.

I will be kicking the event off with a swing at 4pm.

On December 16, I will be performing again for the Hale Barns Christmas Concert — Christmas Number Ones! This is a wonderful night of Christmas classics with some fantastic acts performing.

Finally, on December 22, I will be singing some Rat Pack Christmas classics at Altrincham Market. I’ll give you the timings nearer the date and hope you will come along for a sing-song!

See you next week!
