POLICE patrols have been stepped up in the Elton neighbourhood following an arson attack and reports of antisocial behaviour.
Concerned residents have informed police of a number of issues over the last few weeks, including damage to property, antisocial behaviour and an arson attack in the rear yard of a property in Knight Street earlier this month.
Greater Manchester Police said they are working closely with partner organisations, including Bury Council, to address the issues.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are aware that residents in the area have reported a number of issues in the last few weeks including damage and anti-social behaviour.
“We are working with residents and housing providers to support those affected and to identify and take action against those responsible.”
“Officers are continuing to work closely with partners across the borough including Bury Council’s anti-social behaviour team and a wide range of both preventative and enforcement tools are being used to address the issues, including CCTV analysis and ongoing investigations.
“We have increased patrols across the area and would encourage anyone with any concerns or information to approach the officers who will be happy to assist in any way they can.”
