MULTIPLE drivers from across south Essex were arrested for various offences.

The Essex Roads Policing Unit arrested 12 people within 24 hours overnight on Thursday November 16.

A boy, 17, from Hutton, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply, and a 16-year-old from Brentwood was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and assault with intent to resist arrest.

A 24-year-old man from Hutton was arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapon, drug driving and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

They were arrested after a car failed to stop in Hutton at around 9.25pm.

The following morning in Basildon police arrested three men, aged 18, 27 and 28, from Basildon, and a man, 47, from Pitsea, on suspicion of drug driving.

Three further drug drive arrests were made in Victoria Avenue, Southend after police pulled over a man, 30, from Dagenham, a boy, 17, and a man, 41, from Pitsea.

All the people above remain under investigation.

Ashton Harley, 19, from Somerset Road, Linford, has been charged with drink driving after stopping a car in The Manorway, Stanford-le-Hope at around 2am Friday morning.

He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on December 17.
