A BOLTON MP has joined the Home Affairs Select Committee.
Chris Green, Conservative MP for Bolton West, has joined the committee of 11MPs who scrutinise the work of the Home Office.
The department is lead by Sajid Javid MP the home secretary.
The committee has previously focussed on a variety of different matters, including immigration, domestic abuse and policing.
Mr Green said: “Select committees provide a great opportunity to examine the policies of the department they serve, influencing key policy decisions as a result the committee’s research and debate.
“This is why I am pleased to have been elected to the Home Affairs Select Committee, where I hope to voice the concerns of my constituents, especially on the problems of police funding.”
Previously Mr Green has served on the Work and Pensions Select Committee and the Science and Technology Select Committee.
Mr Green filled a vacancy after standing unopposed to fill the position on the committee.
