TWO men have been charged with arson offences following two house fires, which police are connecting.
The ongoing investigation is looking into two fires. One was at a house in Montreal Street, Leigh on Tuesday, October 16 and the other at a house in Mardale Road, Huyton in Merseyside on Sunday, October 14.
Zana Ali, aged 34, of Thirlmere Road, Leigh has been charged with two counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
These counts each relate to one of the house fires.
Jake Hignett, aged 22, of Kimberley Avenue, St Helens has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life. This is in relation to the house fire on Mardale Road in Huyton.
Both men have been remanded to appear before Wigan Magistrates Court today.
