TWO people had to be evacuated from their home when an electrical fault caused a fire in their flat.

The property, on Market Street in Farnworth, began to fill with smoke and the pair had to be evacuated by firefighters, who arrived on the scene at around 8.30pm.

Nobody was hurt in the incident which is believed to have been caused by a fault in a plug socket.
