A SERIES of festive concerts will ring in Christmas.

Bolton Music Service is again bringing some festive cheer to the town by staging its popular seasonal shows for all the family.

Musicians will be performing across Bolton and beyond in some of the region's most stunning historic buildings including the grand Victoria Hall and the beautiful Blackburn Cathedral.

Stuart Hazelton, assistant headteacher, said: "Our Christmas concerts are very popular, it is the most popular time of year for our shows.

"This year we have two concerts in Blackburn Cathedral, which is a beautiful building . In the Victoria Hall we have a concert for primary school children which is sold out, meaning 2,000 children will experience They have all be given things to make before the concert which they can bring with them."

The programme kicks off next Thursday with a Spotlight Concert, an evening of solo performances at Deane Church.

The Mayor of Bolton's Children's Christmas Concert will take place at Victoria Hall on November 30.

The public can enjoy Christmas Music performed by primary school children on two nights at Blackburn Cathedral on December 3 and 4 at 6.30pm. On December 4 Bolton Youth Harmonies will also perform.

Concert, Christmas Rocks will take place on December 12 at 7pm at Horwich RMI. The concert bands and brass band Christmas concert will take place on December 13 will be staged Victoria Hall at 6.30pm and the orchestra and strings Christmas concert will take place on December 14 at 6.30pm at Victoria Hall.

Musicians will also perform at Bolton Hospice's ‘Light Up A Life’ Service on December 5 at Bolton Parish Church, 7pm.

Mr Hazelton said: "What we do is encourage children into music and to see the progress they have made at Christmas does make me proud. They enjoy playing and people know the quality of the concerts is very good."
