Over 80 per cent of people surveyed in the North West think it would be difficult for veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder to stay in work.
The research was carried out by The Poppy Factory, which helps veterans in the North West to return to work when they may be struggling.
Meaningful long-term employment can be a challenge for those returning from action for a variety of reasons, including both physical and mental health.
In the poll, almost half of those who participated (47 per cent) said they had worked with someone who they knew had a mental health condition, two thirds knew the effects of PTSD.
