BOLTON'S Winter Festival is now open to the public.

An ice rink, tipi bar and Santa's grotto are among the festivities.

Here's a round up of all the main attractions, including opening times and prices:

Ice skating and Tipi bar

A giant covered ice rink and a nativity scene will take pride of place in the town centre, along with a huge cosy tipi – a new addition this year.

The rink can hold up to 180 people per session. The popular Penguin Club, for parents and children, takes place 9am to 10am weekends, and daily from December 20.

Visitors can pop into the tipi for a tipple or winter warming hot drink from the festive bar, or a snack from the sweet treats menu. The tipi will also be home to a stage for performers.

Opening times: Saturday December 8 to Sunday January 6 daily from 9am to 8.30pm.

Prices: £7.50 for adults, £4 for children 14 and under.

Santa’s grotto

A magical Santa’s grotto has moved into the heart of The Albert Halls for Christmas.

Opening times: Open daily from 10am, between Saturday December 8 and Christmas Eve.

Prices: £2.50 for 0-2 year olds (a festive children’s book), £4 per child for 3 years upwards (festive children’s activity pack including a colouring book, stickers, foam animal puzzle and colouring pencils)

Children can also hop onboard Santa’s Express train for a ride (cost £1). The train is open weekends from 10am to 5pm until December 23, and will also be running on December 20 and 21.

Mayor’s Christmas Fair

Traditional festive fun will come to the Albert Halls with the Mayor’s Christmas Fair.

There is something for everyone - music, entertainment, traditional games and gifts and crafts stalls.
