A CANDLE lit vigil will take place tonight to remember the four "angels" who lost their lives after their house was fire bombed.

Today marks the first anniversary of the fatal house fire in Jackson Street, Walkden which claimed the lives of Brandon, aged eight, Demi, 15, Lacie, seven, and three-year-old Lia.

Tonight their lives will be honoured by family, friends and members of the community.

The vigil takes place from 6.30pm to 8pm and people are free to bring a candle.

A moving tribute in the form of a short power presentation will be shown during the poignant ceremony, with people being able to leave messages.

There will also be donation buckets, with money being raised donated to Wythenshawe Burns Unit.

In September a joint funeral was held for the four children - known as 'Walkden's little angels' by the local community.

Zak Bolland, 23, of Blackleach Drive, Walkden and David Worrall, aged 25, of Worsley Avenue, Walkden were both found guilty of murder in May.

Courtney Brierley, aged 20, of Worsley Avenue, Walkden was found guilty of manslaughter.

Worrall was accused of removing a fence panel from the garden of Michelle Pearson's home and smashing a kitchen window before two lit petrol bombs were tossed inside, at around 5am on December 11 last year.
