A MAGNIFICENT statue of suffragette Annie Kenney has been unveiled exactly 100 years since women voted for the first time.
Guests, including actress Maxine Peake, gathered for the unveiling outside the Old Town Hall in Oldham.
Children from St Thomas’ School, Lees unveiled the statue due to the work they have done telling Annie’s story throughout the year.
A procession marched to Parliament Square headed by a brass band and made up of trade unions, local businesses, local schools, community organisations, and local residents.
