MAY I thank the generous people of Bolton once again for packing into the Victoria Hall on Saturday night to attend the annual Christmas Concert given by Eagley Band, Smithills Community Choir, Smithills Community Band and myself in aid of Bolton Hospice.
The queues outside the hall before the concert were again around the block into Knowsley Street outside and the foyer was completely swamped and overwhelmed with 1,200 people congregating to buy programmes before the concert began.
The evening itself included music ranging from Michael Buble to Benjamin Britten and with another sell out audience it is hoped that many more thousands of pounds will have been raised for our wonderful Bolton Hospice.
We also held a retiring collection in aid of Bolton's Special Care For Special Babies Unit and look forward to hearing how much money was also raised on their behalf.
May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe new year,
Chris Wormald
MD Eagley Band & Smithills Community Music
