A DOMINO'S driver has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Astley Bridge.

The collision occurred outside Domino's in Blackburn Road, last night. It is understood a father and his son were in the second car.

Emergency services were called to the scene after a silver Toyota Yaris collided with a grey BMW X5.

One of the drivers, who worked at Domino's, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Colleagues of the man — who is believed to be 21 years old — said the incident left them in shock.

They have wished the driver a speedy recovery.

Mohammed Natha, shift manager, said: "It happened right outside. I heard a loud bang and we went outside to help.

"When it happened we were just shocked.

"He had just left and was about to go out on a delivery.

"He has worked here for just under one year.

"We hope he gets well very soon and makes a speedy recovery."

A section of Blackburn Road was shut off by police.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at around 9.15pm to a two-vehicle collision.
