How very sorry I feel for the lady, Mary Martin, who was viciously attacked in December 2017 by a Presa Canario,( a dog well known for being vicious ), while she was out walking her own little dog and sustaining horrific injuries to her leg.

I find it hard to believe that this same dog has now been released back to his owner under the condition that it wears a muzzle when outside ! This breed has been

banned in other countries so why not here?

As a dog owner myself for many years, if one of my dogs had caused such injury for no apparent reason, I would not have any hesitation in having it put down to prevent this from ever happening again.

This lady now has difficulty in walking due to having had a skin graft and is in considerable pain and at her age of 76 this is just not fair.

How can the owners of this dog be so selfish in having it back home, have they no consideration at all for the feelings of Mary Martin and her family?

Why is this country then so backward in banning these breeds that have the potential to cause such horrific injuries, when other countries have no hesitation at all in doing so? Perhaps someone could explain.
