AN EXCITING new co-working space is coming to Farnworth.

Thrive is set to launch at Miller House in Market Street on January 17 following a £500,000 investment in the block which had been sitting empty for some time.

The space boasts 37 office suites and state-of-the-art facilities including meeting rooms kitted out with the latest technology, such as interactive touch screen whiteboards, Skype and conferencing capabilities.

It also offers high speed broadband and WIFI, a concierge and cleaning service, as well as break-out areas, and even features and on-site gym.

Matthew Settle, Thrive's managing director, said: “Miller House offers fantastic office suites and modern and vibrant communal areas and facilities, enhancing the working experience and giving our customers an impressive space to host their clients."

The new office space also forms part of Thrive's regional network and occupants will also gain access to facilities at the firm's operations in Wigan, Widnes, Warrington, and Newton-le-Willows.

Mr Settle said: “Our occupiers benefit from automatic membership to Club Thrive, which allows them to use our facilities at other locations as well as connecting to other Club Thrive members.

"We have plans to open at several other locations in the region including Bury, Blackburn, Oldham and Cheadle, as well as having operations in Blackpool, South Yorkshire and the North East in the pipeline.”

More commonly associated with Manchester, London, or perhaps even Silicone Valley, shared work spaces have blossomed across the world as many entrepreneurs, independent business people and Creatives ditch traditional and home office spaces.

The phenomenon has grown as business has changed, with the end of paper chain reliant practices meaning people no longer need traditional office based infrastructure to run their companies.

Thrive's arrival in Farnworth has been hailed by Bolton Council figures and comes alongside the new bus interchange in Farnworth town centre, being completed by Transport for Greater Manchester.

Bolton Council Leader, Linda Thomas said: “I am delighted to welcome Thrive to Farnworth and to see Miller House, which has been empty for a long time, being brought back to use.

"We are developing a new masterplan for the Farnworth area that will focus on both the place and its people. We are looking for innovative solutions from investors that will assist with regenerating the area to benefit local people.

"The proposals for Miller House fit with this and we hope that it will encourage others to take a similar approach.”

Thrive office spaces are expected to range from 160 sq ft up to 460 sq ft, and prices start at £375 PCM plus VAT for a two to three person office suite.
