A SECURITY camera has caught a man licking a doorbell of a house.
The Bolton News' sister paper USA Today reported a man was on video licking an intercom buzzer at a California house.
When police caught up with Roberto Daniel Arroyo, aged 33, of Salinas declined to discuss allegations that he'd been overly intimate with the intercom and had stolen extension cords, according to Miguel Cabrera, Salinas Police public information officer.
A camera inside the doorbell of the home in in Salinas caught Arroyo's activity, Mr Cabrera said.
He said: "His behaviour's rather odd, licking around the intercom speaker."
The video shows Arroyo moving in and out of frame several times Saturday between 2 am and 5 am.
The video shows him licking the intercom button only once briefly, Mr Cabrera said, contrary to reports that it happened for three hours.
David Dungan, 67, who lives at the home, said he and his wife first saw the video Saturday morning after returning from out of town.
The case has been sent to the Monterey County District Attorney's Office, which will decide whether to file charges.
Mr Dungan said his wife published the video on social media because they wanted to alert the community.
They also cleaned the porch and bleached the doorknobs, he said.
