THE first annual ‘Smithy’s Charity Trail Run’ will raise money for Bolton Hospice.
Mathew Smith organised the event in honour of his father who was cared for by Bolton Hospice and died in 2017.
Mathew said: "I wanted to create an event that would not only raise money for Bolton Hospice but to also try and inspire people to explore the local trail routes we have throughout the Bolton area.
“You don't have to run, you can walk, hop, skip or jump your way round the course. Just make sure you enjoy it!”
The run follows a five-mile course through the trails of Bolton and takes place on Saturday, February 9 2019, starting at Egerton Cricket Club at 10.20am.
Entry is £21 per person (£19 for affiliated runners). To register, or to download a free five-week training programme, go to smithyscharity
