THERE is something for everyone in the Victoria Hall’s new year programme.

Families can enjoy the pantomime Aladdin, which runs until January 19 and has been produced by Victoria Hall Amateur Dramatic Society.

Bolton Symphony Orchestra stages its New Year Concert on January 26.

In a first, the orchestra will be showing a film screening of the much loved Raymond Blake’s The Snowman which is accompanied by live music and singing from the choirs of Eagley Junior School, Harwood Meadows Primary School, Kearsley West Primary School and St. Saviour Primary School. There will also be music from Tchaikovsky The Nutcracker.

Next month, Matthew Chadbond and the Friends of the Victoria Hall y present The Manchester Light Orchestra. The programme of light classics is conducted by Alex Webb, including favourites such as Rossini’s William Tell Overture Coates’ Dambusters March and Ungar’s The Ashokan Farewell. The concert takes place on February 9.

The world famous Black Dyke Band will take to the stage on March 23.

The band performed at the Victoria Hall last year and those interested should get their tickets quick.
