A WOMAN was assaulted at a Morrisons cashpoint.
Shoppers reported that an elderly woman was 'threatened' as she was using the cash machine at the store in Chorley Old Road.
It is understood that staff from the store helped the woman inside following the incident this morning.
The assault has been reported to Greater Manchester Police.
Adele Greasley of nearby Mandy’s Bakery said: "One of my customers said the woman was very shaken up.
"We did not know if her money had been taken or not.
"Hopefully Morrisons has CCTV of what happened.
"It's getting scary, especially for elderly people.
"Let's hope the woman who was involved today is okay."
A spokesman for Morrisons said they were aware of the incident and that it had been reported to the police.
