Marlborough Street in Burnley, where a murder investigation has been launched
A murder investigation has been launched after a 40-year-old woman was found dead in Burnley.
Police say there were alerted by the ambulance service at around 7.15pm on Monday after the body of a woman was found at a house in Marlborough Street, Burnley Wood.
Parts of Springfield Road and Healey Wood Road were also sealed off as investigations continued.
No arrests have been made yet, police have confirmed.
The 40 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, say investigators.
This morning a scenes-of-crime tent remains in place outside a property, which has a broken window.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "Her death is currently being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing."
