NATURE-lovers are invited to join a walking club on a variety of journeys over the next week.

Bolton CHA Rambling Club will be holding three walks on Saturday, January 19 and another three on Wednesday, January 23.

On Saturday, the day will start with a 12-mile route around Ashworth Moor. Walkers should gather at 9.30am at the Aldi car park in Higher Bridge Street to meet Peter Brazier from the club.

Then, there is an eight-mile walk planned along the Spitler's Edge ridge in Chorley. The group will meet with Frank Atherton on the side roads near the Belmont Bull Hotel for a 10.30am start.

This will be followed by a trip around Turton Tower, taking in the Barlow Institute and the Wayoh Reservoir. The seven-mile walk will be organised by Keith Brazier, who is meeting walkers at 11am at Turton Tower, BL7 0HG.

A second Turton Tower walk is planned for Wednesday, to begin at 10.30am. This eight-mile route will be organised by John Edge and will cover the Entwistle Reservoir, Edge Lane and Ramwells Farm.

At the same time, there will be another eight-mile walk around Dowry Head. This is organised by Jean Steele and Lois Williams and begins at Nuttall Park, BL0 9LR.

Finally, there will be an Irwell Vale walk also beginning at 10.30am at Nuttall Park. This will be organised by Frank Wall and will be six miles long.

Anyone interested can show up at the start points as long as they bring appropriate walking gear.
