A NIGHT of live music will take place tonight, Thursday, in memory of a teenager who died two weeks ago.

Alicia Sidebotham, from Atherton, who died at the age of 19, was a regular visitor of the Indiependence nightclub in Wigan town centre and a big fan of live music.

Three of Alicia's favourite bands will be performing, the Della Noirs, Pink Shirts For Pale People and The Lathums along with three DJs.

Event organiser Dave Sweetmore, who is one of the DJs that will be playing, said: "Alicia was a very regular customer. She loved the club and watching live bands.

"I play at the club on Saturdays and Alicia was always in there. She had a proper good set of friends.

"She was a friendly, bubbly, amazing girl and everybody liked her- exactly the type of person you want in your club."

Indiependence will open its doors from 8pm with the first band due to take to the stage at 8.30pm.

Dave added: "I think it will be very busy tonight with people celebrating Alicia's life.

"Funds raised from the night will go to her family."

Alicia's body was discovered by police after they were called to a wooded area off Broadway in Over Hulton on Monday, January 7.

Police said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Ms Sidebotham's death and a file was prepared for the coroner.

Entry for the gig at the King Street West club is £5 per person with donations also accepted on the day.

A crowdfunding page has also been set up to run alongside the event.
