Long delays are building on the M60 after a crash caused a build-up of traffic.
Recovery services are currently dealing with the incident, which involved a car and lorry, but Highways England have confirmed that it was a 'serious accident'.
The incident occurred on a clockwise section of the motorway around Junction 12 for the Eccles Interchange and is causing problems up to Junction 13 for A575 Walkden Road (Worsley).

Congestion has been reported as far back as Junction 6 for Sale.
Lane one (of four) remains closed to allow for recovery work and lane two was closed until around 16:40 to allow the emergency vehicles attend the scene.
