AWARENESS of different faiths and religions was raised by college students to celebrate World Religion Day.

Bolton Sixth Form College A-level religious studies students encouraged people to think about the different religions through providing them with information.

World Religion Day was held yesterday and is a day where everyone is encouraged to talk and listen to people from faiths different to their own. The day was first initiated in America and is now celebrated internationally.

Students researched information about various faiths and created a display to share in college with staff and students.

A colleges spokesman said that the event enabled everyone to take time to reflect about different beliefs held within college and around the world.

The aim of World Religion Day, held on the third Sunday in January every year, is to promote inter-faith understanding and harmony and recognise what different faiths have in common.
