THIS nativity picture is still generating a lot of interest with our readers.

We first published the photograph of angels and shepherds at St Peter and St Paul Junior School in Bolton town centre back in December and asked if anyone recognised themselves in the Christmas service scene.

First the family of Virginia Ruotolo, far right, third row from the back on the picture got in touch.

Now the family of Karen Jowles has contacted us to say that she is in the picture.

Anne Jowles recognised her daughter on the back row, in the middle, just in front of the music score placed on the organ.

Anne said: "Karen is 56 now, she will be 57 in February. She loved going to St Peter and St Paul's school."

When she left St Peter and St Paul Junior School, Karen went to Mount St Joseph's.

Her sister Beverley was in the year below, and at the time the family lived in Brandon Street, Daubhill, said Anne.

After leaving school, Karen trained to be a social worker, and she now has a partner and two girls aged 24 and 20. The family lives in Ramsbottom.

Virginia Szczyrba, as she was, had recognised herself with her short brown hair and headband in the picture above as soon as she saw it.

Now she also has a son, Alfonso, and a grandchild, Grace Parkinson, aged four.

Virginia, of Hulton Lane, grew up to become an accountant at Warburton's Bakery.

When Karen and Virginia went to SS Peter and Paul, the headteacher was Sister Imelda. Do you have memories of her?

Were you one of Virginia and Karen's classmates and are you in the picture above?
