POLICE have reached out to the public to help with the search for a missing man.
John Willets, who has links to Bolton and Wigan but his current whereabouts are unknown.
The 59-year-old has not been seen since leaving the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary on Wigan Lane, Wigan, shortly after 2.50pm on Tuesday.
It is believed that Mr Willets took a taxi to visit at least two pubs in Hindley before he took a bus in the direction of Bolton.
He is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of a large build, with grey, short hair and a stubbly goatee beard.
He carries a brown walking stick with a rubber bung on the bottom of it and is believed to be carrying a green, striped bag.
Police say the missing man was last seen wearing a dark blue fleece, black pants and black trainers.
They have appealed for anyone in Bolton or Wigan who may have seen Mr Willets to come forward with information.
