A woman was carjacked by two masked men with weapons.

An employee of a Horwich estate agents was leaving the premises and walking to her car along Robinson Street on Wednesday evening. She was approached by two men covering their faces.

The woman sustained no injuries, her white Range Rover was stolen.

Police were called to reports that a vehicle had been stolen at 6.50pm.

The car was later found abandoned by a resident in the area. The estate agents, Redman Casey Sales and Lettings on Winter Hey Lane, has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Director David Redman said: "The incident happened on Robinson Street. She was approached by two men.

"She was asked for a key, which she didn't want to give.

"She tried to run away, they grappled with her and she fell to the floor.

"She threw the keys and the men then took her car, it was found about half a mile away. Someone noticed someone dumping a car and rang the police."

He added: "She's very shaken but in good spirits."
