YOUNG athletes from all over the country flocked to Harwood in 1983 for the first of Bolton Harriers' children' road races.
More than 500 competitors took part in the event, with the under 11s girls' team trophy being won by Nottingham AC. Bolton came fourth in the event. The Harriers were also fifth in the boys' under 12 team race and gained bronze in the girls' under 13 race.
